Laying AAC with thin-bed mortar
- Lay the first course on a level bed of normal sand-cement mortar to take up slab unevenness.
- From the second course, mix joint mortar with 25–30% clean water to a smooth paste.
- Spread it 2–3 mm thick with a notched trowel as wide as the block, on bed and vertical joints.
- Tap each block to line and level with a rubber mallet. Stagger vertical joints by at least 100 mm.
- No curing needed. Plaster or putty can follow once the mortar has hardened.
Delivery and unloading
Blocks travel strapped on pallets. Tell us the floor, road access and whether a crane or hoist is available when you check out, and we'll plan the drop. Bagged goods ship on the same truck.
